The following guidelines are subject to change upon CDC and health officials guidelines.
In accordance with new guidance from Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Public Health, the Champaign Park District is updating its policy on the wearing of face masks inside district facilities.
On Wednesday, February 9, 2022, Governor JB Pritzker announced that Illinois would lift its statewide indoor mask requirement effective Monday, February 28, 2022. The Governor also announced that mask requirements would continue where federally mandated, such as on public transit and in high-risk settings including healthcare facilities, congregate care, and daycare settings.
Therefore, beginning Monday, February 28, masks will be optional in all Champaign Park District facilities with the exception of preschool and afterschool programs, where masks will still be required.
The Champaign Park District will continue to monitor the recommendations of federal, state, and local public health officials and will notify the public of any changes to mask requirements in district facilities.
