DESCRIPTION:*We regret to have to cancel tonight’s Peace Walk due to anticipated weather. Please take a moment today to consider our community and MLK’s legacy. This event will not be rescheduled.* \n\n\n\nThe Urbana and Champaign Park Districts will come together with the Urbana Rotary Club and other community organizations on April 4 – the date Dr. Martin Luther King\, Junior was assassinated – to model the late civil rights leader’s peaceful activism. \n\n\n\nThe march will begin at King Park (915 W Wascher Drive\, Urbana)\, walking to the Champaign Park District’s Douglass Community Center. The Urbana Free Library will have an exhibit from the Champaign County Historical Archives for attendees to view. Park District and other designated officials from both Champaign and Urbana will make remarks at each site. \n\n\n\nChampaign Park District will provide transportation between King Park and the Douglass Center so marchers can return to their cars at the end of the evening. Attendees who choose not to March can park their car at Douglass and will be transported to King Park for opening remarks and back to Douglass for closing remarks\, refreshments\, and the opportunity to view the Urbana Free Library exhibit. \n\n\n\nAll are welcome!

With no formal art education\, my present set of skills are the product of failures\, successes\, and most importantly\, experimentations. Only recently has by artistic path come into focus. Exaggerating color and contrast within a scene from nature fuels my passion for art. Beauty can be found around every corner. SUMMARY:2025 Winter Pickleball Classic
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Winter Pickleball Classic on January 4th & 5th. This will be a round robin-style tournament with the top 4 teams advancing into bracket play. Saturday features Men’s Doubles and Women’s Doubles and Sunday features Mixed Doubles.  \n\n\n\nSkill levels are 3.0 and below\, 3.5\, 4.0\, and 4.5 and above in each category (skill levels may be combined based on registrants). Balls will be provided. 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded.  \n\n\n\nAll participants will receive a complimentary gift.  Tournament will be held indoors at Leonhard Recreation Center located at 2307 Sangamon Dr. All registrations must be completed online. Drinks and complimentary snacks provided. Must be 13 years old or older as of 12/31/2024. \n\n\n\nRegistration Closes on December 19th. \n\n\n\nProgram Fees: $90 a team (1 registration per team). \n\n\n\nGames will begin no earlier that 9:30am on Saturday and no earlier than 10am on Sunday. \n\n\n\n\nWinter Pickleball Classic Registration
