TAKING THE STAGE
A perfect holiday surprise for the kids is in store at Shopkins Live! on Thursday, December 7. Packed with show-stopping performances, cool dance moves and the latest pop songs, it’ll be a memorable night for years to come.
On Saturday, December 9, the Virginia welcomes back Nashville artist, Andrew Peterson presenting his live show, Behold the Lamb of God. This is a special repeat performance.
HOLIDAY EXTRAS
The Virginia’s historic and beautifully decorated Mezzanine Lobby has become a favorite backdrop for Holiday Card Photo Ops. Call the theatre at 217-356-9063 to reserve time to get this year’s family pic during special dates in November and December.
Every December, Santa makes time to visit the Virginia. Bring the kids for a free opportunity to Meet Santa, have a great photo op and drink some hot chocolate, on the house. Dec 6, 13 & 20 from 5-7pm.

READY FOR 2018
On Friday, January 12, a writer and one of the country’s foremost comics, Paula Poundstone returns to the Virginia. Her unscripted approach and quick wit makes for a comedy show like no other.
In February, the Virginia welcomes two exceptional local youth theatre productions. On Feb 14-17, Champaign Central High School’s Drama Program presents Mary Poppins, The Musical.
The Champaign Park District Youth Theatre then present their Winter Production on Feb 22-24. Both programs have consistently impressed and delighted audiences with their ambitious productions.
During The Roger Ebert’s Film Fest (commonly known as Ebertfest), the Virginia has played host to world premiere movie screenings and to panel discussions with directors and filmmakers such as Spike Lee, Oliver Stone, Guillermo del Toro, Norman Lear and actors such as Patton Oswalt, Tilda Swinton, Jason Segel and Chaz Palminteri.
