The Douglass Annex is a multipurpose facility adjacent to the Douglass Community Center. The Annex hosts senior programming as well as other formal and informal programs and gatherings. It is equipped with a large activity room, computer lab, kitchen, combined lounge and craft room, television, and a piano.
Rental Information
The Douglass Annex activity room and adjacent kitchen are available to rent for meetings, parties, group gatherings, and more. Facility closes on weekends with exceptions for rentals. All rentals have a 2 hour minimum but you may edit the duration for a longer stay. Find more information at our Rental Information page below.
History
- Originally operated as Gagliano IGA Supermarket.
- The City of Champaign obtained the property in the fall of 1967 as part of a Urban Renewal Project.
- The Champaign Park District obtained land and building in 1970 from the City of Champaign.
- Dedicated March 4, 1978.

2010: $10,408 Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) grant for energy efficiency at the Douglass Center, Douglass Annex and Springer Cultural Center
