This 1923 romantic comedy includes one of the most famous images ever from the silent film era: Harold Lloyd clutching the hands of a large clock face as he dangles from the outside of a skyscraper above moving traffic. The picture was very successful financially and also critically, and it cemented Lloyd’s status as a major figure in early motion pictures.

The American Soldier is actor Douglas Taurel’s unique solo, live stage performance based upon actual accounts and letters written by veterans and their families from the American Revolution through current day Iraq and Afghanistan wars. It strives to help us understand why it is so difficult for many veterans to re-enter civilian life when they come home after experiencing combat, and examines the incredible sacrifices made by our service members and their families.
The American Soldier has been nominated for an Amnesty International Award and has been performed at the Kennedy Center, among countless other venues.
In its brief 75 minutes, Douglas Taurel enters into the personas of 14 veterans and their family members, telling their story of courage and sacrifice.

The legendary Glenn Miller was one of the most successful of all dance bandleaders back in the Swing Era of the 1930’s and 40’s, with a matchless string of hit records such as his signature “In The Mood”.
Glenn disbanded the group in 1942 to volunteer for the Army, forming his famous Glenn Miller Army Air Force Band. On December 15, 1944, Major Miller took off in a single engine plane, disappearing over the English Channel, never to be seen again.
In 1956, with the full permission of the Miller estate, the reformed Glenn Miller Orchestra performed its first concert and has been on the road ever since.
Today, the 18-member ensemble continues to play the original Miller arrangements both from the civilian band and the AAFB libraries. Just as it was in Glenn’s day, the Glenn Miller Orchestra of today is still the most sought after big band in the world!
