Champaign Park District has announced that the 3-plex and 4-plex at Dodds Park are getting an upgrade to improve patron safety. In the coming weeks, parkgoers may notice new poles being installed at the fields near the walkways and bleachers. Netting will also be added to the poles to provide overhead protection for spectator areas, sidewalks, and concessions. The project will be ongoing until mid-September.
Dodds Park will remain open during the installation process. Programming and rentals at the ballfields will not be affected.
