Clean Parks Day

July 5, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

Join us for Clean Parks Day on July 5! Clean Parks Day is a literal ~scavenger~ hunt that will take you to some of our most-used parks. Fill up a standard size grocery bag with litter in the park, find our new event helper, aka “See P.D.” at each participating park to scan QR codes, and repeat until you’re beat!

When you’re done, bring all your collections to Hessel Park where we will be onsite to help dispose and recycle your items, and you can collect those prizes!

Please complete the electronic form below and download the app Scavify to complete this fun Clean Parks Day Scavenger Hunt!

Frequently Asked Questions

Printable Clean Parks Day FAQ Sheet >>

  • Who can participate?
    • Anyone! This event is for all ages.
  • How do I get points?
    • Download the free app Scavify>> and find the QR codes at our listed parks. Scan those through the app and automatically rack up those points!
    • Please make sure to use the same email when registering on the Scavify app that you used when registering for the event.
  • What if I’m playing on a team/with my family?
    • Great! The more the merrier. One member can register through the app, or you can share login information with your team members. Please note that prizes will already be prepared, so remember that sharing is caring!
  • Is this is a race?
    • Nope, take your time! You can visit as many or all of the 10 parks starting at 12PM. We will be at Hessel Park until 5PM.
    • Prize tiers will be rewarded based on number of parks visited/points collected.
  • What do I do with my garbage I pick up?
    • Bring it to Hessel Park! We will be at the park that afternoon and will happily dispose of your collections.
  • Do I need to separate my recyclables?
    • That sure would be great! We can recycle items for you. You’ll even receive bonus points for bringing in recyclables!
  • What do I do if I find something dangerous or hazardous?
    • Leave it alone! If you find items at a park that pose a risk, please do not pick them up. Make a note of it and let staff know so that we can take care of it.
  • What happens if there isn’t any litter left when I get to a park?
    • Look closer! You can probably find sneaky remnants hiding in neighboring areas, in landscaping, in parking lots, etc. We will gladly accept your trash collections, no matter the volume!
