In the last year, more than 300 families have benefitted from Champaign Park District’s expanded Scholarship Program. Now, scholarships go beyond youth programming and are available to adults and families seeking support for all Champaign Park District programs and memberships. Over $35,000 was distributed over the last 12 months, and the need continues to grow.
Ties & Tennies Gala
Our new fundraising event, the Ties & Tennies Gala, has successfully helped fund these scholarships. Still, additional support can help us reach more families and provide access to swim lessons, day camps, fitness center memberships, and more.
- A $50 donation will help a child learn to swim.
- $100 will help a child to play soccer next spring.
- $300 will help a family secure dual membership to Leonhard Recreation Center & Martens Center for the year.
- $500 will support a budding ballerina for two semesters of instruction.
Champaign-Urbana Special Recreation
Scholarship donations can also benefit Champaign-Urbana Special Recreation, a cooperative of the Urbana and Champaign Park Districts that provides recreation programs and services for CU residents with disabilities.
- A $50 donation will help a budding basketball star join the Mustangs Co-Ed Team
- A $250 donation can provide a month of Adults’ Day-In, helping caregivers and participants with a month filled with crafts, games, and socializing.
