Thanks to donations and grant funding, Champaign Park District has planted hundreds of trees in the last three years. This year, we were awarded an $8,800 Lumpkin Family Grant to plant over 40 new trees in Zahnd Park next fall. These trees will absorb pollutants and provide local climate benefits, such as moderating severe weather events, reducing runoff from heavy rainstorms, and cooling their surroundings through our ever-warmer summers.
This year, we ask for your support in matching this grant through donations made to Champaign Parks Foundation to double the number of trees we plant throughout the district.
- $300 will purchase one tree
- $1000 will purchase five or more trees thanks to bulk buying opportunities
- Additional donations can provide a commemorative plaque placed alongside the tree
