Martens Center is well on it’s way to being completed! We can almost hear the sounds of kids running the halls and basketballs hitting the backboards in the gymnasium.
The building is estimated to be complete in early July 2022, with a grand opening event set for July 16. The updates to Human Kinetics Park are complete as of June and we can’t wait to celebrate it’s opening alongside the building.
Human Kinetics Park Updates
The park is now considered complete! Because Martens Center is still a construction site, we have yet to have a Grand Opening for the park. We plan to celebrate the park when we open the building this July! Below are photos of the improved park and information on the features.
OUTDOOR FEATURES
• 1 full Basketball Court
• 1 full Futsal Court: Fence Enclosed
• Playground
• Pavilion
• Walking Path
• Splash Pad (10a-7p thru Labor Day)
• Softball/Soccer Field Combo
The gym floor is completed and lined! See photos below.
The stairs and elevator are in place. The large wall behind the stairs will soon be adorned with a larger-than-life mural created by local artist, Jose Vazquez.
Jose met with students at International Prep Academy and the Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club for feedback on what should be included in the art piece.
