Native Americans have lived in central Illinois for thousands of years. What was life like for the first Illinoisans? Using authentic materials and historic artifacts, staff members from the Champaign County Forest Preserve District’s Museum and Education Department will use hands-on activities to teach about native peoples. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Both adult and child must be registered.

Sports & Fitness
Have fun and learn to play the game! The Champaign Park District and Prime Time Volleyball Club have teamed up to provide a volleyball program designed to focus on the technique and skills of each player. All coaches are selected by the Prime Time Volleyball Club. These clinics will concentrate on developing the ability to pass, set, spike, and serve the ball. Players are introduced to the basics and move to more advanced skills.

Join us for our Champaign Park District Youth Hoops Basketball Clinic. This program will focus on the development of players’ fundamental skills of dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense. Staff will be hands-on, encouraging a friendly yet competitive environment. This clinic will be filled with drills and games, and will conclude with a competition day. This is a great introduction to our Youth Hoops Basketball Leagues.

Power Vinyasa Yoga helps improve strength, flexibility, balance, focus, and joy. The structure of this class is designed to include all bodies and levels with many modifications and variations. Notice the differences in your mind, body, breath. Bring a mat, 1 to 2 yoga blocks, and water.

Join our 50 Plus! program to socialize, adventure, and learn! Individuals aged 50+ living in Champaign-Urbana join for an annual fee of $30. Those outside of Champaign-Urbana pay $40. Non-members are always welcome to participate at the non-member (NM) fee, varies per program.

Smart Meals is a program designed to provide awareness and education on buying affordable, healthy foods that can be easily prepared at home. Each Smart Meal kit includes a recipe card, shelf-stable ingredients, a shopping list, and other educational materials. Each Smart Meal recipe is uniquely created by a registered OSF dietician. All meals are high in fiber and low in fat and sodium.

Join us for the 11th annual CUSR Cupcake 5K! This is a times, accessible race ending with a delicious cupcake. Funds raised will go into CUSR’s Scholarship Fund, which supports individuals who need financial assistance to access CUSR programs and services. Runners, walkers, and registrants must provide a valid email address in order to receive crucial pre-race information. Updated information will also be posted on the CUSR’s Facebook page. After the 5K at 10a, there will be a 100m Dash for kids ages 10 & under.
This even will go on rain or shine unless the weather poses unsafe conditions. No refunds will be given in the event of cancellation due to unsafe weather conditions.

The Carle Mobile Health Clinic brings affordable, non-urgent medical services to neighborhoods near you. Our 40-foot, wheelchair-friendly mobile medical clinic offers infants, children and adults full-service medical care to make sure families stay healthy. Practitioners have experience in pediatrics, family medicine, and women’s health and pregnancy. Services provided include: chronic condition management and education, treatment of acute illness, physicals, wellness care and assessments, school and sports physicals and immunizations, lab testing, and referrals and applications for social services.
