Features
Open Gym
Open gym hours will be posted every month. Please check the open gym schedule for designated Basketball, Pickleball, and Volleyball times. Open gym requires a second pair of shoes. Patrons are encouraged to bring their own equipment, but a limited number of basketballs, pickleball racquets and balls, and other equipment is available by request.
- All non-member day pass participants must create a park district household account (if they do not already have one) by filling out a Day Pass Form. The account must be created by an adult/parent/guardian on their first visit. All day pass participants must have a valid photo ID except children supervised by parents.
- Open gym participants 11-17 years old in Middle School and High School may participate without parental supervision, but must have a valid Day Pass Form on file.
- Elementary school children and younger must be supervised by a parent to participate in open gym.
Pickleball
Pickleball is available to members and day pass participants during designated pickleball hours. Please check the open gym schedule for availability. Members are encouraged to bring their own paddles and balls, but a limited number of paddles are available by request. If any participants are elementary school aged or younger an adult 18 or older must be present.
Weight Room & Indoor Track
One of the primary features of the Leonhard Recreation Center is an indoor three-lane track (10-11 laps= 1 mile). This well-equipped facility also includes a Cardio/weight and locker room available during all open hours. Locker room does not include showers and is bring your own padlock.

Indoor Playground
Bring the whole family to try the farm-themed indoor playground. The cost is $7 (Resident) and $10 (Non-Resident) per walking child. Enjoy the three levels of interactive features like a slide, wrecking ball, tractor, and log obstacles. Great for ages 1-10, the playground also features a toddler area, book tree, Legos, and sensory games.

Leonhard Recreation Center opened to the public in 2014 and was funded in part by the Park and Recreational Facility Construction Grant Program, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, with additional geothermal mechanical system funding provided by The Illinois Clean Energy Foundation. The energy efficient geothermal system transfers heat by pumping water through pipes below the Earth's surface. During the winter, the piped water absorbs underground warmth and brings heat to the building. In the summer, it is reversed for air conditioning!

Choose between an annual gym membership or monthly gym membership. Monthly memberships are 1-month minimum, auto charged.

Become A Member
For pass sale purposes, a family includes an individual, their spouse and their own minor children residing with them. A family pass can also include minor children under legal guardianship of an adult family member or other adult relatives living within the household (verification required). Non-walking infants do not require a pass.
A fee is applied any time a Membership fob is replaced due to loss or theft. Membership fobs are used each year; new ones are not reissued without paying a fob replacement fee.
Silver Sneakers
Leonhard Recreation Center works with Silver Sneakers to cover the cost of membership fees for adults 65+. If one is interested in using this program for Leonhard Recreation Center, they will need to register with Silver Sneakers to obtain a membership ID and work with their insurance company to cover the cost. Please bring Silver Sneakers membership ID when registering for Leonhard Recreation Center membership.

Rentals & Party Packages
The Leonhard Recreation Center hosts rentals as small as a 5-person meeting or as large as a sports tournament or trade show. From graduation parties to retirements, baby showers to corporate events, our experienced staff will make your next event a success! Gym, court, and room spaces are available. For the benefit of our members, we do not offer private playground or full-facility rentals.
