Start your summer activity registration preview on Monday, March 10th, 2025! Registration for residents of CU go live on Monday, March 17th. Non-residents can begin registering on Thursday, March 27th.

Free Agent Registration
Want to play in our adult pickleball league, but don’t have a team? Or are you interested in subbing on another night for a team?
No fees due at the time of registration & teams will be made if enough players are interested in the same league night. Players placed on the team will split the cost of the team registration with their team.
Free Agent Information is shared with registered captains at the beginning of the season to pull subs on their teams, if needed.
CPD Pickleball Open @ John Street | May 17-18
The third annual Champaign Pickleball Open starts May 17th! The tournament will be located on our outdoor complex located on John Street. This facility has 8 lighted courts!
Registration includes a free t-shirt if you register by April 13th. Please note your size on your registration. Any registrations after April 13th will not receive a t-shirt. A limited number of t-shirts will be available for purchase. All participants will receive a complimentary towel. A complimentary snack table is provided each day.
All participants must check in each day you play and arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your event start time.
Round robin format. All round robin matches will be rally scoring. Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 4 games. The top 4 teams from each division will advance to bracket play. The tournament director reserves the right to combine or alter brackets as needed.
Please be aware that this tournament is weather dependent.

LRC Open-Gym Pickleball
Ages 13+
Leonhard Rec Center will have open-play pickleball starting in August. Join the fun and become a member of LRC to play pickleball for free! Sessions subject to change/cancel due to gym reservations or scheduled programming. Open gym schedule is posted every two weeks on CPD website.

We’ve teamed up with the U of I Golf Course to provide our Orange and Blue Golf Clinic! This clinic will focus on developing proper skills for kids to begin playing the game of golf. Experienced and new players are welcome.

Beginners Youth Karate
Get ready to start your journey in karate with our 6-week beginner’s program. Led by Chris Johnson, a 6th-degree black belt in Shito-Ryu Karate-Do, this class will introduce your child to the core principles of karate, including discipline, focus, and respect.
Throughout the program, students will learn essential techniques such as stances, strikes, and blocks, all while developing confidence and physical fitness.
Chris Johnson’s expertise ensures a structured, supportive environment where students will grow at their own pace. This is the perfect opportunity for young learners to build a strong foundation in karate, improve their coordination, and experience the benefits of martial arts.

Iddy Biddy Baseball
Introduce your child to baseball, using our “iddy-biddy” equipment and some fun games. We will help your child learn throwing, catching, and hitting. Players need to bring their own glove and a water bottle.

Adult Specialty Athletics
Fencing
Ages 16+
Learn the basics of this great lifetime sport in a fun, introductory mini-camp. Adults will learn footwork, blade technique, tactics, and principles of fencing. Come ready to work hard, dressed in loose clothing (no jeans), and tennis shoes. All fencing equipment is provided.
