Sholem Aquatic Center Positions
Sholem Aquatic Center is the place to be this summer! Help create smiles as a Front Desk Worker, Swim Lessons Instructor, Lifeguard and more.

- Lifeguard Certification Covered? Lifeguard certifications are covered 100% by the Park District
- Who Certifies Lifeguards? We run the certification classes ourselves here in C-U
- Scheduling? Schedules are done weekly for all positions for flexibility
- 15 Year Old Positions? 15 year-olds can apply for Lifeguard and Swim Instructor
- Food Handler’s Certification? Concessions workers will receive a Food Handler’s certification covered 100% by the Park District that is good for 2 years
Prairie Farm Positions
Prairie Farm is a replica of a turn-of-the century farm complete with barns, farmhouse, pond, pasture, & flower garden. If you love being outdoors, this is the job for you!
Sports Positions
These jobs let you get out on the field and support our athletes! You can work concessions, maintain the sites, and even officiate games.
Champaign-Urbana Special Recreation Positions

- How long do seasonal positions run? Seasonal positions run from April – November
- How long can I work a seasonal positions? Seasonal positions do not exceed 6 months
Summer Camp Positions
Summer vacation is even better with sports, games, pool days, and field trips! The job opportunities in our Summer Camps let you work directly with participants to give them the best summer ever.
Frequently Asked Questions:
- Hours/shifts? Camp begins at 7:30a and ends at 5:30 p. Days are broken up into half-day shifts (morning or afternoon), more hours available, if desired.
- Vacations/Time Off Requests? We are flexible but prefer that you give us advance notice using the questionnaire we send out prior to hiring. However, since this is only a 10-week program, requesting several weeks off will be taken into consideration.
