Project Purpose
The playground redesign at Wesley Park will align with future improvements to the Martin Luther King Trail, a project led by the City of Champaign. The new playground will be relocated to a more central location within the park’s green space. The redesign will also prioritize modern equipment for children ages 2-12 and feature fixtures different from those in nearby parks.

April 3, 2026 Update:
Champaign Park District invites community members to attend a public meeting to discuss the replacement of the Wesley Park playground.
The meeting will take place on Thursday, April 30, at 6pm at the Douglass Annex (804 N Fifth St).
Community members will have the opportunity to offer feedback on proposed playground equipment presented by Nutoys Leisure Products. Children are encouraged to attend.
